Illuminating Madrid with World Cancer Research Day



On September 24th, we celebrate World Cancer Research Day worldwide In Madrid, that same day and during 24 hours, one of the most emblematic places in Madrid, will become a place of awareness, participation and support to research against cancer

Iberdrola and AECC join efforts to celebrate it with you. We will install a giant digital mural at the Reina Sofía Museum square as a tribute to the researchers. Whenever someone supports the cause, a researcher’s photo will light up on a large LED display. We want you to turn on a light too.

Come with your children, grandchildren … we will have a children’s laboratory, an area for children to entertain in a didactic and informative. There will be workshops for children that will explain or show the kids how we are at the cellular level.

In addition we will be accompanied by great researchers who will bring us closer to the world of research. The researchers present at the event are:

  • Estela Paz, H. October 12. Immunotherapy
  • Patricia González Santamaría, IIB Albert Sols. Cancer Awareness
  • Marta Puyol, Director of Biomedical Research of the AECC
